Rock-hungry crowds packed Chop Suey Friday night, eager for a taste of the heavily-recommended Dirtbombs’ sonic magic. Openers and local darlings Thee Emergency probably didn’t hurt the door total either, but my favorite part of the evening was discovering in-betweeners Little Claw.

I’m a sucker for a free MP3. I rarely listen to the radio, I almost never watch TV, and there’s precious little new music on either of those anyway (KEXP excepted, of course), so I have to really work to discover new bands. Scouring the internet for free downloads is one of my primary wastes of time, err, discovery strategies.
Which I do, in my mind. These may not look like punk songs, but inside each and every one of them is a punk song trying desperately to get out.
The next six months aren’t looking good for me, eh?
