Local band The Crills, who are part of tonight’s seattlepunk.org benefit show at The Funhouse, perform “Sonic Reducer” at Hell’s Kitchen in Tacoma.
The Northwest-focused Cumulus Music Festival began last night, and continues tonight and tomorrow night at King Cobra and the Vera Project, respectively. “Man behind the curtain” Levi Fuller is a well-esteemed curator of music, so this should be good.
French punk band The Hatepinks is winding its way across the world on its farewell tour, and was kind enough to stop in Seattle along the way. The Wednesday night Funhouse audience was treated to an all-out punk rock spectacular, complete with plastic bag masks, duct tape, sunglasses at night, and lots and lots of incomprehensible French.
Punk cover band The Crills played a hard, fast, uncompromising set at the Bit Saloon in Ballard, sending the crowd churning to the sounds of their favorites.
On January 3, seattlepunk.org organized a concert, social gathering, and drink-off at The Funhouse. On the bill were The Plankton Beat, The Hickmans, Toe Tag, and 26000 Volts.
For the weekend, and I don’t expect to be posting. I know, I know — but you’ll survive, I promise. And while I’m gone, I have an assignment for you.
