A few weeks ago I posted a list of my favorite shows of 2008. Then, about a week and a half ago, I saw The Cops play night two of their Rock And Roll Circus at Sunset Tavern. This show blew all ten of those on my list completely out of the water. The lineup was amazing: The Whore Moans, Kinski, The Fall Of Troy, and The Cops. The crowd was amazing, ready and willing to have a great time. And The Cops? Every time The Cops play, they’re on fire, but that night they burned so hot that it should have been illegal to say their name in a crowded theater. I don’t know if I’ve ever had that much fun at a show in my life.
Tonight also promises treats, as I’m headed to Schoolyard Heroes’ annual Home For The Horrordays show at El Corazon. SYH is another band that doesn’t know how to put on a bad show, and I’m happy to cap my year off with this concert and let them be the last band I’ll see in 2008. Happy Horrordays everyone!
