Fucked Up @ Neumos
Toronto band Fucked Up was a band I’d been excited about seeing for many months when they hit Neumos Wednesday night. Their latest album, The Chemistry of Common Life, is one of the best I’ve bought in the past year, and I’d seen photos and heard talk of their awesome live show.

Police Teeth @ Neumos
Yesterday was so busy that by the time I was able to head to Neumos for the Police Teeth / Akimbo / Fucked Up show I was afraid I was going miss Police Teeth’s set. Luckily, I arrived in time to catch most of it, and though the crowd was still thin so early in the evening, I hope everyone else there enjoyed it as much as I did.
The Whip @ Chop Suey
The Whip, an electropop band from Manchester, England, traveled a long, long way to make Seattle dance, but last night at Chop Suey they achieved their goal. As the band worked themselves into a sweat, attendees churned on the floor below.
Peelander-Z @ The Funhouse
It’s obvious that a band that bills itself as “Japanese Comic Action Punk” is going to be a little bit wacky, but there was literally no way I could’ve predicted what I would see at last week’s Peelander-Z show.
Le Shat Noir @ The Funhouse
Le Shat Noir wormed (jerked, really) its way into my heart by pushing a couple of different boundaries when they played The Funhouse Tuesday night, challenging both people’s mental and physical comfort zones.
The Soft Pack @ Neumos
I’ve been a fan of The Soft Pack for well over a year now, but circumstances had always prevented my seeing them live until now. …
Road Trip To Olympia
Friday my friends Cameron (of Seattle Subsonic), James and I took a road trip to Olympia to see The Damage Done and Success! kick off their tour at the Olympia Eagles Hall.
Punk Show @ Squid & Ink
I made my first trip to Georgetown’s Squid & Ink to shoot a quartet of local bands: Fun Fun Fun, Like Claws!, The Damage Done, and Success!. It was a cool and rainy day outside, and the crowd inside the tiny blue space steamed the windows.
Dateless’ Final Show
Beloved Seattle pop-punk band Dateless played their final show last night at the Funhouse. The sentimental occasion, plus a great bill rounded out by Seattle’s Success! and San Jose’s The Pillowfights, drew a large and boisterous crowd.
